Aren’t You Tired of It? -SPAM!!!

September 19th, 2008

I am talking about SPAM!!!!!

This post is going to be more on a personal note.  Recently I joined a mailing list with someone who has been helping me a lot.  The next thing I know I am receiving like 5 emails a day from this guy.  Not only that but all of the people he has JV’s with are sending me stuff too.  If you are seeing this (You know who you are) STOP!!!!

Personally, I think this is a little overkill.  I have to tell you that Jim Edwards is not one of these people who are doing this.  I like to hear about new products out there, but I don’t need 10 different emails telling me exactly the same thing!!!

I am seriously thinking about un-subscribing with this guy, even though he has great info and stuff.  So, if you are one of these people using these practices, you might want to reconsider.

I would hate to lose people off my lists because I am bombarding them with emails!!!!!

If you are writing articles, emails, and newsletters to market your business, consider using a fresh unique approach.  If you want to get the attention of your prospects please don’t send them the same headlines everyone else is using, you are just wasting your time and theirs.

It only takes a few minutes of your time to check the emails, newsletters, etc.. that you are loading into your autoresponder.  This will go a long ways towards building trust and credibility with your prospects.  Probably getting you a few more sales in the future.

The Autoresponder I use has a great spam checker: click here to check it out!

Article Marketing: What To Do And What NOT To Do

September 17th, 2008

Here are some of the things that you can do to have a great article. The article will be easier to read, if it is short and gets to the point quickly.   You want it to be long enough that it gives valuable information to your reader without losing their attention.  An article should be around 600 words or so.  Be well informed of the subject that you are writing about, if you’re not, your readers will know!  Write your article so it is easy to understand.

Here are some questions you need to ask yourself before penning your article.
Who do you think is going to be reading your article?  Who is your audience going to be?  If it will be professionals than you would want to use professional language, but if it is just going to be your average Joe than you might want to bring it down a notch or two.

One technique you could use when writing is to ask a question and then answer with a solution to the problem at hand.  If your article is about ‘headache remedies’ for example, you might ask the question “what caused the headache?”.  Depending on the answer, you could then present a solution to relieving the headache.

If you wanted to establish a more personal rapport with your readers, let them in on tips that cause them to take an action or a tip that would cause them not to act.

Really important!  Watch for spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors. Take a few extra minutes to Spell-Check, it will be well worth the extra time in the long-run.  Not to take the care with the writing of your article could present an image of you as unprofessional and would lessen your credibility.

Don’t use a bad title! One of the first things your readers will see, when they visit your site, is the title, and if its not a good one you could end up with nobody reading your article.

It’s pretty easy to write an article as long as you use a few basic rules of thumb.   Happy writing!
